Lincoln designers begin assessing possible color choices about three years ahead of when it will debut. For the all-new 2015 Lincoln MKC, Tahitian Pearl was developed exclusively for the brand’s first entry in the small premium utility segment. “With the all new Lincoln MKC targeting a younger, savvy target customer, we wanted to offer a trend color that was a little more daring and adventurous,” said Janet Seymour, Lincoln color and materials design manager.
“The new Lincoln MKC has a body style that lends itself to a vibrant color like Tahitian Pearl,” Seymour said. “It has a progressive, modern feel, which is in step with the MKC customer.” The sleek, sculpted body helps the 2015 Lincoln MKC stand out. Its high beltline and low shoulders create a sturdy, athletic presence, while features such as soft exterior lighting, pedestal side view mirrors and an available panoramic, all-glass Vista Roof® give the vehicle a luxurious, sophisticated personality.
Gabriela Hernandez, founder of Los Angeles-based Bésame Cosmetics, a Latina-owned boutique cosmetics company, has seen the popularity of purple lipstick take off this year. “It has the power to really make the look, so you can keep the rest of the face simple and flawless,” she said. Pantone also named Radiant Orchid Color of the Year for 2014 ahead of fashion trends embracing purple.
The MKC is also available in Midnight Sapphire and Smoked Quartz, two selections from the cool end of the spectrum, which is expected to be hot in the coming months.
